The Warsaw, Indiana office of Refior Law Office, which is ideally located on the shore of beautiful Center Lake in Warsaw, Indiana, was founded in the fall of 1981 by Paul D. Refior (“Rafe”). Rafe graduated with honors from the University of Iowa College of Law (where he had served as President of the Iowa Student Bar Association) and was admitted to practice law in the State of Iowa in June 1975. He began his legal career as a Navy JAG lawyer stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1978 he was also admitted to practice law in Wyoming where he joined a trial practice in Pinedale, Wyoming, nestled in the Rocky Mountains. In 1980 Rafe and his family left Wyoming for a year of sabbatical, to engage in Bible-based missionary work under The Evangelical Alliance Mission (TEAM) in the city of Takamatsu, Japan. Upon returning to the United States in 1981 Rafe was admitted to practice in Indiana.
In the fall of 1981 Rafe “hung his shingle” in Warsaw, Indiana and Refior Law Office opened. The principles of crawling before you walk and walking before you run were applied to the practical development of the firm from scratch. In 1985 the original structure on Center Lake was purchased and transformed into a law office. In 1991 the current three-story, spacious law office building was constructed to take full advantage of the beautiful lake view, and provide outstanding facilities.
In 2001 Rafe and his precious wife Pam felt led by the Lord to seek a license to also practice law in the State of Florida. In September 2001, Rafe took the oath as a Florida attorney. Rafe Refior is presently admitted to practice law in Indiana, Florida, Iowa, and Wyoming. Rafe travels to Florida as necessary to carry on legal services for Florida clients. The next expansion came in 2006 when a branch Refior Law Office was opened in Lafayette, Indiana. Through the wonders of cutting edge technology, the legal work can be efficiently and seamlessly completed at and from both locations. The development of Refior Law Office has been designed to provide the best possible legal representation to our clients. Rafe practices each week in both Warsaw and Lafayette.

REFIOR LAW OFFICE is a limited law practice which provides legal services in Indiana, Florida, Iowa and Wyoming in only the following practice areas:
Trial Lawyer in Federal and State Courts - Civil Cases; Innocent Defendants charged with Felonies. A significant part of our practice involves litigation. We represent business and corporate clients in non-frivolous cases in the areas of commercial/business disputes, real estate lawsuits, employment law cases and contested probate matters. We do not accept medical malpractice cases – preferring instead to support the medical community. We do effectively prosecute wrongful death and major personal injury cases, while the bulk of our litigation relates to business and commercial matters. We also represent innocent clients who have been wrongly charged with serious felonies, in Federal and State Courts.
Estate Planning and Probate. The firm offers a complete range of legal services relating to estate planning including: assessing and analyzing property and estates and recommending suitable alternative financial and estate planning methods and documents; simple wills; wills with guardianship provisions and minor’s trusts; complex tax-saving wills; revocable living trusts; complex revocable living trusts with estate tax savings features; irrevocable life insurance trusts; other irrevocable trusts; limited liability companies; limited partnerships; charitable remainder trusts; other charitable/planned giving instruments; durable powers of attorney; special powers of attorney; powers of attorney for health care; living wills; codicils to wills; amendments to trusts; trust administration; Probate of estates; and all other estate planning, probate, trust, or financial documents and services.
Representation of Business Clients. We provide ongoing business representation for a wide variety of businesses that range in size from newly formed family businesses to large corporations, including manufacturing, construction, professional services, Christian ministries, car/truck dealerships, retail stores, restaurants, and other businesses. The firm offers a complete range of legal services relating to business law, corporation law, labor/employment law and commercial law.
Business Formation and Business Succession Planning. We provide legal advice and assistance in the formation of new ventures and enterprises. This includes determination of which business form is best suited to the client’s needs and the creation and implementation of the new entity, including the formation of limited liability companies, corporations, exempt organizations, partnerships, joint ventures, limited partnerships, and proprietorships. With Rafe’s experience of serving as President/CEO of two manufacturing companies, he can also provide practical consulting relating to company leadership and governance. We also guide businesses through the challenging and often complex planning and process of successful business succession.
Transactional Law/Real Estate Law. We assist clients in a wide variety of real estate matters, including the purchase and sale of businesses and of commercial and residential real estate. We draft contracts, leases, and other legal documents. In this era of complex transactions, we draft the legal documents necessary to complete business and commercial transactions.
